Look forward to self exploring and new learnings through these interactive sessions whose details are as follows:
1. Becoming a well-rounded UX Professional (by Aruna Panangipally )
A highly motivating and interactive session that would help you explore a field beyond Tech Writing! Come and experience for yourself what it takes to be a well-rounded UX (User Experience) Professional.
2. Awaken the Blogger Within (by Navin Israni)
Technical documents are written for learning purposes of an audience who have abundance of time. It has to be extremely low level and basic. Blogs are a totally different animal. A blog has to be written freely - without any style limitations.
Technical writers find it difficult to switch between the two styles.
This session aims to familiarize you with
● the structure of a blog
● style of writing a blog
● techniques to achieve fluency in writing a blog
Who is it for: This is an informal session is for technical writers who know how to create a blog but struggle to switch between the two writing styles.
Who is it NOT for: This session is NOT meant as a “training for writing a creative novel”.
3. Migrating away from MS Word (by Sangeeta D. Kataria)
As known, technical documentation groups at most of software organizations in Mumbai, still use MS Word for authoring and publishing their user documentation.
In my current organization, we have recently migrated our legacy MS Word documents into MadCap Flare tool. I would like to conduct a session, wherein firstly cover the pain points of continuing in Word and highlight the benefits of moving to newer topic-based, single-sourcing, and multi-channel publishing approach. And thereafter, share how we identified the activities to be completed before migration and some tips and takeaways to ensure smooth migration into a new tool.,
